Clinical Placements 

Participants secure local clinical placements that meet program standards (hospital, hospice, long-term care, rehab, behavioral health, community clinic, etc.). Clinical Chaplaincy provides templates and guidance for memoranda of understanding, preceptor orientation, and scope of practice.

 

  • Hours: Minimum 300 clinical hours per unit

  • Patient populations: Determined by site; we encourage exposure to acute, chronic, palliative, hospice, and family systems work.

​

  • On-call expectations: TBD by site (no universal requirement).

​

  • Documentation: Site appropriate charting; Clinical Chaplaincy reflective documentation (case studies) required.
